Challenged by ransomware and other password-related breaches and attacks, organizations are taking action to strengthen their authentication processes by deploying multifactor authentication (MFA). Like passwords, MFA is susceptible to attack, and doesn’t completely address the authentication problem.

To get insight into identity security trends, Enterprise Strategy Group surveyed 488 senior IT and cybersecurity decision makers at midmarket (i.e., 500 to 999 employees) and enterprise-level (i.e., 1,000 or more employees) organizations across North America (US and Canada). These respondents were responsible for their organization’s identity and access management (IAM) programs, projects, processes, products/platforms, and services.
