ESG TechTruth: Top 5 IT Skills Shortages Information security tops the list of IT skills shortages.

Each year, ESG asks IT organizations to indicate the technology areas in which they feel they have a problematic shortage of existing skills. Security remains the number one gap to fill, with 25% of firms reporting that they have a shortage of relevant information security skills. Interestingly, many of the top areas for skills shortages – including security, virtualization, big data, and mobile – are also areas that organizations consider to be among their top IT priorities for 2014.
