ESG Brief: A Data Center Revolution in Storage Technology
ESG Brief
Oct 31, 2017
The storage technology landscape has evolved dramatically over the past few years. Data centers once dominated by SAN and NAS arrays now include all-flash arrays, software-defined storage, and even hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) technology. The introductions of these new technologies have fundamentally altered the storage technology landscape, changing the makeup of the data center, as well as the organizational structure and/or flexibility of the IT staffing. And these shifts may just be the early signs of the revolution in storage, as it moves away from multiple isolated technologies each with its own expert to fewer, more powerful, and automated technologies.
