ESG Research Report: Network Automation: Enabler of IT Process Goals
ESG Research Report

Jul 27, 2016

In order to assess how enterprise organizations are evaluating, deploying, and operationalizing their network automation systems, ESG surveyed 247 IT professionals representing enterprise-class (1,000 or more employees) and midmarket (100 to 999 employees) organizations in North America. All respondents were involved in evaluating, purchasing, and managing data center networking technologies for their organizations and organizations had to be using, planning to use, or interested in using network automation technology.

By using a broad definition of network automation, ESG sought to understand the underlying needs for automation as well as its benefits. ESG did not lead the respondents to a particular definition, but instead provided wide latitude in accepting their definitions within the limits provided.

Survey participants represented a wide range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, business services, communications and media, and government. For more details, please see the Research Methodology and Respondent Demographics sections of this report.
